The National Telecommunications Institute Honors Fayoum University
Dr. Amr Samih Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology and Prof. Ahmed Gaber Shadid, President of Fayoum University witnessed activities of the closing session to renew the agreement of the Cisco Academy for Information Technology at the level of Egyptian universities, which was signed in 2008 among six Egyptian universities: Fayoum University, Banha University, Zagazig University, Sohag University, Suez Canal University, Menoufia University) in the presence of the presidents of those universities and Prof. Mohamed Essa, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research Affairs and Prof. Nabila Mohamed Hassan, Dean of Faculty of Computers and Information and Prof. Gehan El Sayed Wakeb, Dean of Faculty of Engineering and Prof. Rania Abou El Saoud, Executive Director of Information at the University, and Dr. Ahmed Sadek, President of Cisco Academy, Faculty of Computers and Information, on Monday, 30/9/2019 at the National Telecommunications Institute in the Smart Village.
Dr. Amr Samih Stated that the National Telecommunications Institute is a huge and successful educational and Training edifice. He also stressed that the world is witnessing the transformation of all countries towards the digital economy, pointing out that Egypt is also witnessing a qualitative leap and building a real integrated digital society through the application of modern technological programs "5G". He praised the fruitful and effective cooperation between the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, which is represented in the development of a strategy for artificial intelligence and the implementation of a training program on fiber optics. The program was launched in Port Said as a start to be applied in the rest of Egypt during the coming period, stressing the importance of the role of Egyptian universities in achieving developmental, economic and technological projects that benefit people in the field of modern technology.
During his speech, Prof. Ahmed Gaber Shedid, President of Fayoum University, pointed out that the agreement includes teaching the latest curricula in the field of information technology, networks and information security in a practical and theoretical way to the students of Faculties of Engineering, Computers and Information at Fayoum University to compete in the labor market.
At the end of the session, the Minister honored Prof.. Ahmed Gaber Shedid, President of Fayoum University and the heads of universities and students of the National Telecommunications Institute.
