    Bodies Concerned with Child Welfare Convene

   In its continuous moves towards bolstering social participation in child welfare, the Quality Assurance Unit at the Faculty of Early Childhood Education, held on Sunday, April 17, 2011 a meeting with mentors, kindergarten teachers and faculty alumni with the aim of enhancing the quality of educational services provided. Parents of students of Asfeer Al-Jana, affiliate to the Faculty of Early Childhood Education, attended the meeting and submitted their suggestions for the sake of improving the nursery's performance. The meeting took place at the Child Theatre and was attended by Professor Hosam Abuel Huda, vice-dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research who gave a welcome address. After that, Dr. Naglaa Ahmed Amin, director of Motherhood and Childhood Unit and lecturer of Psychological Sciences, took the floor and steered the meeting. The meeting tackled the following points: *The Faculty's vision and mission. *Efficiency of faculty's graduates. *The programs offered by the faculty as well as the viewpoints of the stakeholders and concerned bodies regarding developing these programs. *Academic standards and to what extent they are convenient for the job market. *Needs of the parents of students of the nursery, who mooted the following: 1-Holding cultural seminars on child nutrition and health. 2-Providing a sheikh for helping children memorize the Holy Quran. The meeting also recommended holding periodical meetings between kindergarten teachers and their parents to exchange experience around child-focused issues.
