| The Faculty of Early Childhood Education held a workshop on Monday 6/6/2011 to train in electronic scoring using Optical Mark Recognition. The workshop was conducted in the Development of Students' Assessment Systems Unit of the Faculty of Early Childhood Education. The workshop featured a presentation by Drs. Essam Mahfouz and Magdy Abdul-Alim about how to write exam sheet and how to mark it using OMR. A host of academics attended the workshop, namely Dr. Rania Abdul-Moez Al-Gamal, Dr. Nabila Al-Shorbagy, Dr. Samiha Mohammad Ali and Dr. Naglaa Ahmed Amin. He were trained in how to create exam papers according to the types of questions used, such as multiple choice, matching, rearrangement, true or false and essay. The workshop started with: 1-An introduction about the OMR and its importance in electronic marking and grading. 2- Steps to be followed when using the OMR. 3- Design or Create Your own Paper Forms. 4-Giving an example using Microsoft Word. 5-Dividing the attendees into groups to give a practical example when designing paper forms. 6- Creating Form Templates. 7- Scanning and Reading Answer sheets. 8- Reviewing Exceptions. 9- Analyzing Data and Reporting. |
