| Engineering Physics Professor, Hazem Ali Attia, was declared dean of the Faculty of Engineering Monday, after winning a second round of voting. Attia won 34.57per cent of the vote, while his contender Professor Sameh Ahmed Galal garnered 32.53 per cent, the Elections Commission declared. Some 92 people were registered to vote in the runoff. Attia holds degrees from the Universities of Cairo and Arizona. His principal areas of research include dynamics, solid mechanics, multibody system synamics, hydrodynamics, magnetohydrodynamics, and fluids engineering. He has written several books and research papers in these areas. On this occasion, Fayoum University congratulates the newly elected dean, wishing him the best of success.
