The Architectural Engineering Department at Fayoum University officially launched its Master of Environmental Design and Planning, a new graduate program designed for those engaged in the environmental design and planning or who are committed to moving into this field. Moreover, it provides an academic platform which will define a new paradigm in all relevant areas pertaining to the environmental design and planning. Also, it will leverage significant emerging relationships within the academia through fostering cooperation initiatives with all other departments and colleges interested in this domain of knowledge. The curriculum will blend scientific material with hands-on training, research and practice, preparing students to achieve environmental design that meets all the environmental criteria for both urban and architectural planning. Students will graduate with a Masters/Diploma in Environmental Design & Planning. The new master’s program is made up of ten courses, which are studied over a period of 24 credit hours a year; 12 credit hours per term. The program consists of a set of core courses covering discipline-specific topics such as natural & mechanical ventilation, environmental design trends, natural and artificial lighting, design and Environmental Planning, geographic Information systems, air flow in architecture, renewable and alternative energies, practical application on natural & artificial lighting, technical writing in English and applied statistics. |
