 Fayoum University partakes in the 4th Assiut University Cultural Forum |

| During April 29 through May 3, 2011, a team of students from Fayoum University participated in the competitions held on the sidelines of the 4th Assiut University Cultural Forum titled "Egypt, which in my mind" - "Misr alati fi khatery". The Fayoum University team composed of Mohammad Abdul Fattah, Amr Ahmed Fouad, Mohammad Mosaad, Alaa Rabie, Mohammad Fathy, Ahmed Abdul-Rady, Esraa Ahmed Mohammad, and Manal Salem Abdul-Ghany. Two officers from the Youth Welfare Department accompanied the team on its trip to Assiut. The forum featured a variety of competitions namely in the Holy Quran, the Sunnah, information quiz, wall magazine, calligraphy, research competition, and poetry. After offering the Friday Prayers on April 29, 2011, the cohort headed to Assiut University and got there at 8 pm. Following, the supervisors convened with some members of Assiut University senior management. The meeting also tackled some matters relevant to the competitions, and the opening ceremony. On Saturday 30 April 2011, the forum was opened and all competitions involved started. At eight o'clock, there was a literary evening given by Actor Adel Hashem. On Sunday 1 May 2011 there were competitions in the Sunnah, research papers. Also, there was a Nile cruise organized by Assiut University administration. On Monday 2 May 2011, contestants who participated in calligraphy competition added the finishing touches to their works. On Tuesday 3 May 2011 the closing ceremony of the forum was held in which winners were given money prizes as well as Shields of Participation. As for results, Fayoum University came third in poetry competition and finished second in information quiz. However, it finished first in the Sunnah competition. |
