In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Ever Merciful, and Peace and Blessing of Allah be upon His Messenger Muhammad Mr. President of Fayoum University Professor Abdel Hamid Abdel Tawab, fellow professors, and delegates: I would like to begin today by thanking all those figures who have made great contributions to our conference this year, namely Prof. Abdel Hamid Madkor, Professor of Philosophy, and Prof. Ahmed Arafat Al Kady, Chair of Department of Philosophy. Religion, as you know, is necessary for both the society and civilization. Without it, no rules will govern people. A good example is the Arabian Peninsula where people lived before Islam in a state of aggression, slavery and heathenism. After the emergence of Islam, they started a new life based on principles of human rights, justice, dignity and respect. This civilization begot a number of statesmen and leaders who illuminated the path to enlightenment, such as Maslamah ibn Abd al-Malik, Al-Q?sim ibn Muhammad, Qutayba ibn Muslim, Musa bin Nusayr, Harun al-Rashid , al-Mu'tasim bi-'llah, and ?al?? al-D?n Y?suf ibn Ayy?b. Dear researchers, it is your role to spotlight the right values of Islam, and fight all kinds of misconceptions. Dear fellow professors and scholars, thank you for attending this conference where you can share ideas and research papers in order to lead us to the right path. Thank you. |
