| The first Early Childhood Education class graduated in an elegant ceremony held on 16 May 2011 at the Hall of Said Soliman, Fayoum Campus. Present were President of Fayoum University Ahmed El Gohary; Vice-President for Education and Students' Affairs Professor Khaled Hamza; and Dean of Faculty of Early Childhood Education Professor Sanaa Haroun. Thankfully, many friends and family members of graduates filled the hall to congratulate the graduates. The event opened with playing the national anthem, followed by a documentary on the Faculty of Early Childhood Education. Next, Dean Haroun gave a speech to open the ceremony. She reviewed the history of the faculty. " We cannot ignore the importance of graduating female teachers for kindergartens as they will bear the responsibility of gearing generations of children up for the cutting edge developments through nurturing them with knowledge and basic skills so that they can catch up with the latest technologies and contribute to the progress of their homeland,” said Haroun in her opening address. Addressing the graduates, she went on to say: “In the present diverse and demanding world, I strongly encourage you to use your training and qualifications to move forward in your professional and personal development. As pioneers, you also have a contributory role to play… by contributing to the enhancement of education along with improving the well-being of children.” During the ceremony, El Gohary decorated the top students, who distinguished themselves during their studies. He praised the distinguished role being played by the Faculty of Early Childhood Education in education and training generations of well learned female teachers. He also thanked Dean Haroun for her tremendous efforts, proving that she is the best one to assume this post. Also, the function featured some performances by the Faculty of Early Childhood Troupe. On the sidelines of the ceremony, awards of the First Female Students' Festival, an event which was organized jointly by the Faculty of Early Childhood Education in conjunction with the General Department of Youth Welfare, were distributed. The value of the awards was some 2000 EGP as 300 competitors participated in the contests of the festival. As for results, the Faculty of Early Childhood Education came first, while the Faculty of Social Work finished second and the Faculty of Education third. Results came as follows: |
