Students' unions of Faculties of Specific Education and Early Childhood Education won elections by acclamation, the Elections Commission announced. About the election process, Professor Abdel Hamid Abdel Tawab Sabry, said that the number of applicants for elections was equal to the number of students needed for each faculty's student body. Professor Khaled Hamza, Vice-President for Education and Students' Affairs, said that the number of applicants for the committees of the student union for the third year of the faculties of Tourism and Hotels, Science, Archaeology, Arts, and the third, fifth and sixth years of the Faculty of Medicine, the third and fourth years of the Faculty of Computers and Information, and the second and fourth years of the Faculty of Nursing. Thus, candidates won elections by acclamation. Mr. Hesham Ewis, Director-general of Youth Welfare, said that some 1183 students withdrew candidacy applications, of which 1023 ran for elections. He also added that no student was excluded from elections. |
