 Second Day of 6th Training Course of Service Learning Project |

| The Faculty of Education held a two-day training course under the Service Learning Project. It was organized under the aegis of Dean of Faculty of Education Ragaa Ahmed Eid during 12-13 July 2011 in the Training Hall of the Faculty of Education. The second day of the course commenced with remarks given by a group of highly-qualified trainers who accentuated the importance of effective participation in implementing project. Through a series of PowerPoint slides, Dr. Amal Gomaa, Lecturer of Curriculum and Methodology of Teaching, highlighted " How to Apply Service Learning to Courses". Then, Dr. Nabila Marzouk, Lecturer of English Language, Faculty of Arts, and Dr. Ahmed Sayed, Lecturer of Mental Health, highlighted the importance of creating a pool of ideas for projects. After that, trainees were divided into groups according to their interests. Each group was assigned to work in only one of a variety of projects, such as Spelling Correction, Waste Recycling, Development of Political Concepts, Development of Critical Thinking, and Making First Aid Kit. At the end, the trainers made comments on the projects submitted. They also set a deadline for the projects to be finalized by Wednesday 13/9/2011. It is worth mentioning that all projects are executed under the banner "University without Walls". |
