 Service Learning Project holds maiden meeting |

| The board of the Service Learning Project held its first meeting on Saturday 22 October 2011 in the Training Room of the Faculty of Education. The workshop was attended by Professor Talaat Shahata, representative of the University of Maryland, USA; Professor Mohammad Abdel Tawab Abuel Nour, vice-dean, Education and Students’ Affairs, Faculty of Education, and CEO of the Service Learning Project; Professor Mohammad Farouk Abdel Samie, vice-dean, Community Service and Environment Development, Faculty of Education, Professor Wedad Azab, Professor of Dairy Science, Faculty of Agriculture; Professor Mahmoud Korny, Associate Professor, Faculty of Dar Al Uloom; Dr. Ahmed Sayed Abdel Fattah, Lecturer, Department of Mental Health, Faculty of Education; Dr. Amal Gomaa Abdel Fattah, Lecturer, Department of Curriculum and Instruction, Faculty of Education; Dr. Khaled Abdel Hamid, Lecturer, Department of Dairy Science, Faculty of Agriculture; Dr. Nabila Marzouk, Lecturer, Department of English Language and Literature, Faculty of Arts; Dr. Magdy Rashad, Lecturer, Department of History, Faculty of Arts; Dr. Salah Mohammad Gomaa, Lecturer, Department of Curriculum and Instruction, Faculty of Education; Mr. Emad Abdel Salam, Assistant Lecturer, Faculty of Social Work; Mr. Nasr el-din nour el-din, teacher, Ain Shams Secondary School for Girls, Ms. Manal Ahmed Abdel Azim, teacher, Azza zidan Experimental Language School, and Journalist Sayed Sherif, Project’s Press Officer. The workshop tackled the following points: 1-reviewing the project achievements during the past year 2010/2011 2-ways to prepare future leaders. 3-approaches of promoting awareness among people with regard to their duties and rights. 4- reviewing the proposed strategic plan of the Service Learning Project and discussing it with the project board 5- distributing the tasks among the members of the executive team as follows: -Professor Mahmoud korny: Coordinator, Faculty of Dar Uloom; -Professor Wedad Azab: Coordinator, Faculty of Agriculture; -Dr. Salah Mohammad Gomaa: Coordinator, Faculty of Education; -Dr. Naglaa Al Sherbini: Coordinator, Faculty of Medicine; -Mr. Emad Abdel Salam: Coordinator, Faculty of Social Work; -Mr. Nasr el-Din Nour el-Din: Coordinator, Ain Shams Secondary School for Girls; - Ms. Manal Ahmed Abdel Azim: Coordinator, Azza zidan Experimental Language School; and -Journalist Sayed Sherif: Project’s Press Officer. |
