| Here is a report about the Third Service Learning Training Course, an initiative to nurture civic education for building future leaders in the Egyptian society. The event was conducted at the Training Room, Faculty of Education, during 26-27 December 2010. Sunday 26/12 It featured the following events: 9:30 – 10:00 Registration - -Welcome Speech and a presentation on the Concept of Service Learning by Dean of Education Ragaa Ahmed Eid -Speech by Vice-Dean for Environment Development and Community Service and Executive Chair of Service Learning Mohammad Abdul-Tawab -Remarks by Dr. Amal Gomaa, lecturer of Curriculum and Methodology, Faculty of Education, Fayoum University, on Basic Concepts of Service Learning. -A presentation on Benefits and Features of Service Learning by Dr. Ahmed Sayed, lecturer of Mental Health, Faculty of Education, Fayoum University. -A presentation on Steps to Service Learning by Dr. Mahmoud Korny, associate professor of Islamic Law, Faculty of Dar Al Uloom, Helwan University. - A presentation on Models of Service Learning Projects by Mrs. Shamia, demonstrator at Faculty of Social Work, Fayoum University. -Comments by Professor Mohammad Abdul-Tawab on the activities of the first day of training. Monday 27/12/2010 -Registration: 9:30 – 10:00 -Welcome speech by Professor Mohammad Abdul-Tawab, by Vice-Dean for Environment Development and Community Service and Executive Chair of Service Learning -A presentation on How to Apply Service Learning to Subjects by Dr. Amal Gomaa, lecturer of Curriculum and Methodology. -A note by Dr. Ahmed Sayed, lecturer of Mental Health, Faculty of Education, Fayoum University, on Proposed Projects by Last Course Trainees". -Presenting and discussing submitted projects by Dr. Mahmoud Korny -Movie Presentation about Service Learning by Ms. Shamia Gamal. |
