 8th Teacher Preparation Course Opened |

| Prof. Dr. Ahmed El Gohary, President of Fayoum University, inaugurated the 8th Teacher Preparation Course on Sunday 19/10/2008. The course is held at the Convention Hall of Faculty of Education. It is to run from 19/10 to 11/11/2008. The opening ceremony was attended by many dignitaries, including Prof. Dr. Abdel Hamid Abdel Tawab Sabry, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Dr. Morad Saleh Morad, Vice Dean of Faculty of Education for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Taha, Vice Dean of Faculty of Education for Education and Students as well as a number of the faculty staff members who participate in the course. In his address to the course, President of Fayoum University stressed the importance of that course for the faculty staff as it would give them an idea about how to set examinations in an accurate and correct way, along with getting some information about the methodology used in teaching. Following, there was a discussion between the president and the participants in which he answered their inquiries which were around the length and numbers of courses required for university teacher preparation staff members; however, they complained of having some kind of incompatibility with other courses, the lack of appropriate places for the accommodation for professors to be present for 4 days a week, and the lack of transportation from Cairo to Fayoum daily. They also called for having center of languages at the university. At the end of the opening session, Prof. Dr. Morad Saleh said that this session was the beginning of the development of the faculty staff member to be familiar with a lot of information on the educational process. He also extended his sincere thanks to Prof. Dr. Ahmed El Gohary, President of Fayoum University, and Prof. Dr. Abdel Hamid Abdel Tawab Sabry for attending the inauguration of the course. |
