In collaboration with the Fayoum Planning Authority, senior architecture students have finalized the Unsafe Areas Development Project, a pilot project aiming at refurbishing unsafe areas in Fayoum. This project comes within the policy adopted by the Department of Architectural Engineering to support graduates through combining study with reality. For evaluating the proposed project, Dean of Engineering Ayman Shahin invited Eng. Refaat Al-Semsar, Planning Consultant at Fayoum Governorate, to attend the arbitration of the project on Monday 27 December 2011. Professor Ayman Mohammad Ismael, chair of Architectural Engineering Department, was present, too. Al-Semsar lauded the graduation projects done by the students and asked for copies of the reports and charts. Moreover, there were discussions around a number of points: 1-Planning-oriented courses must be relevant to the needs of the province. 2-Forming a joint committee from both the Department and the Planning Authority to achieve the first goal. |
