 The Nematology and Biotechnology Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture, Fayoum University, is holding a training course in "Nematology" from February 29th through March 3rd, 2012.


Training will cover the following areas:
1-Introduction to nematology
2-How to recognize nematode infections.
3-Symptoms of infections.
4-Nematological problems
5-Extracting and examining soil samples and plant roots for nematodes.
6- Control measures: Use of biotechnology and molecular biology to Identify and classify plant-parasitic nematodes and pathogens that can cause severe damage to plants.
7-Biological and chemical control methods.
8-Developing a computer application on each farm to identify rates of infection with nematodes.
9-Writing recommendations according to infection rate.


Registration fees
*Registration fees are EGP 600 (Accommodation: Not included); EGP 800 (Accommodation: Included). Fees will cover attendance to all scientific sessions, course kit, lunches and coffee breaks.


*A discount of 30% is offered to postgraduate students.
