  Signing an Agreement between Faculty of Agriculture at Fayoum University and Food Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Egypt

Faculty of Agriculture at Fayoum University Signed an agreement with Food Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Egypt to held an important project. The main objective of this project is to improve living conditions for small farmers of horticultural crops in the five targeted villages in Fayoum governorate through increasing the competitiveness of their production. Thereby improving their economic conditions through a participatory development approach that promotes the adoption of good agricultural practices related to land and water use efficiency among small farmers targeted.
The meeting was attended by Prof. Mona El-Tawab El Khashab, Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Nevien El Sawah, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Prof. Farouk Mohamed Gadallah, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environment Development, Prof. Mahmoud Ahmed Shendi and Dr. Ahmed Owais Shoaib, Director of t Food Agriculture Organization (FAO) project in Egypt.
The target groups are smallholder farmers of men and women, in the five targeted villages. The project will focus in particular on close to 1,000 families working in the agriculture sector and 200 families in each village, with areas of five acres or less.
