Faculty of Nursing Implements Emergency Evacuation Drill

Under the patronage of Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata, President of Fayoum University, and with the supervision of Prof. Assem El Essawy, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Prof. Ghada El-Gallad, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, the Faculty organized an emergency evacuation drill.
The event was attended by Prof. Amal Ibrahim, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development; Colonel Islam Hamdy from the Civil Protection Department, Dr. Enaam Hamza, Director of the Crisis and Disaster Management Unit at the Faculty, as well as faculty members, staff, civil protection personnel, and students. The drill took place on Sunday, December 24, 2023.
Prof. Amal Ibrahim explained that the goal of the evacuation drill is to educate everyone on how to respond to and handle emergency situations to ensure comprehensive safety. The plan included training emergency teams on how to evacuate the building and implement necessary procedures to ensure everyone's safety, outlining the roles to be followed during the evacuation.
Additionally, life coach Mahmoud Abdelaziz, a trainer at the Civil Protection Institute, delivered a lecture outlining the action plan and distribution of roles for disaster response. Teams were divided into groups, including group leaders and members. These groups were responsible for tasks such as disconnecting electrical power, activating alarm systems, guiding and directing to assembly points, ensuring safety, and firefighting. The groups also included a team for gathering and inspecting individuals to provide first aid.
During the evacuation drill, civil protection representatives conducted a simulated fire exercise and provided a lecture to guide and instruct the teams, which included faculty members, staff, and students.
