The Faculty of Dentistry, Fayoum University, participated in cooperation with the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector, under the patronage of Dr. Ahmed Al-Ansari, Governor of Fayoum, Professor Dr. Yasser Magdy Hatata, President of Fayoum University, and Professor Dr. Assem Al-Essawi, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Hamdy Mohamed Ibrahim, Dean of the Faculty. Medicine, Dr. Lamia Ahmed Ibrahim, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, and Dr. Sameh Fathi Ashmawy, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, organized the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector in cooperation with the Decent Life Foundation, the Faculty of Medicine, the Faculty of Dentistry, the Faculty of Nursing, the Public Service Center at Fayoum University, and the University’s Community Enlightenment Project. The former Dean of the College of Education, Dr. Wafaa Yousry, Director of the University’s Public Service Center, and Dr. Ahmed Gamal, Deputy Coordinator of a Decent Life in Fayoum, Headquarters of the Health Unit in Al-Azab Village, Fayoum Center.
Professor Dr. Asem Al-Issawi stated that the medical convoy succeeded in providing medical examination and treatment for 930 cases, as 100 orthopedic cases, 50 dental cases, 143 internal medicine cases, 45 nose and ear cases, 210 children, 47 sciatica cases, 125 dermatology cases, and 90 ophthalmia cases were examined. And 120 cases of blood pressure and sugar measurements.
His Excellency added that on the occasion of the onset of winter, the Public Service Center for Local Community Development had distributed, during the convoy, a number of blankets to a number of widowed women who have orphaned children, and the most needy among the people of the Al-Azab village in the Fayoum Center.
His Excellency indicated that the Community Enlightenment Project had participated, in the presence of Ed Amal Rabie Kamel, former Dean of the Faculty of Education and Director of the Community Enlightenment Project at the University, coordinators of the Faculties of Education and Social Service, officials from the Fayoum Illiteracy Eradication Agency, and 53 male and female students from the University’s colleges, in raising awareness among the villagers about issues of family development, adult education, and social development. Society and the dangers of illiteracy. Immediate exams were held in cooperation with the General Authority for Education and Networking of University Students with those wishing to learn from the people of Al-Azab village and raise awareness among children and their families who have dropped out of education to dry up the sources of illiteracy.
At the end of the convoy, the villagers thanked Fayoum University and the Hayat Karima Foundation for the efforts made in the convoy.
