Pursuant an agreement between Fayoum University and EMC, a leading provider of IT storage hardware solutions, Professor Khaled Hamza, President of Fayoum University, opened Cloud Computing Laboratories of the Faculty of Computers and Information on Monday 1/6/2015.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Professor Mohamed Abdel Wahab Morsy, Vice President for Education and Students' Affairs, Professor Nabila Mohamed Hassan, Dean of the Faculty of Computers and Information, Professor Mohamed Al-Rabaiey, Vice Dean for Education and Students' Affairs, and Mr. Maged Mahmoud, General Manager of EMC Egypt.

During the event, the University President lauded the efforts exerted by the Faculty of Computers and Information in terms of developing laboratories and providing students with different technological tools.

It is worth mentioning that the Cloud Computing Laboratories are the first-of-a-kind at the Egyptian universities. They consist of two labs: one for the laptops and the other for the servers.

Following the opening ceremony, the Faculty Council held a meeting chaired by the University President and featured signing a number of cooperation protocols between the Faculty of Computers and EMC. |
