| Fayoum University participated in a workshop to evaluate the outputs of the first phase of Information and Communication Technology Project (ICTP). The workshop was held on Monday 16/2/2009 in Ain Shams University Conference Center and attended by Minister of Higher Education and Research Prof. Dr. Hani Helal. Fayoum University was represented by President of Fayoum University Prof. Dr. Ahmed El Gohary, Vice-President for Postgraduate Studies and Research Prof. Dr. Mohammed El-Khaleely Barakat, Director of Projects Management Unit Prof. Dr. Mustafa Radwan Mohsen, and the managers of the projects sponsored by ICTP in the university who are Prof. Dr. Nabila Mohamed Hassan, Manager of E-Learning Project and Dr. Mohamed Saad Al-Shenawy, Manager of ICT Training Project and Dr. Wael Taha Al-Dahshoory, director of Automated Libraries project. Then, the workshop was inaugurated with reviewing the various achievements of the project via giving a standardized presentation by Dr. Tariq Al-Ahmadi, Dr. Hossam Fahim, Dr. Ahmed Hassan, Dr. Tarek Gharib, Dr. Khaled Abdul-Fattah, and Dr. Ashraf Saad. This was followed by a speech delivered by Dr. Mohammed Shi’eera, Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in which he tackled the future vision of the ICTP Information Center. On the sidelines of the workshop, the minister opened an exhibition containing the ICTP achievements in each university. To review the achievements of the project, a number of professors delivered comments on the achievements of ICTP including: Prof. Dr. Mohsen Elmahdy Said, Executive Director of the Projects Management Unit (PMU), Prof. Dr. Fawzy Aly Turk, President of University of Kafr El-Sheikh, representative of the Supreme Council of Universities, Dr. Hoda Baraka, representative of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, and Prof. Dr. Hassan Nadir Kheirallah, President of Alexandria University and Chairman of the Board of Project Management Unit. In his word, Prof. Dr. Hani Helal, Minister of Higher Education, delivered his sincere thanks to all who contributed, planned and implemented ICT projects in higher education pledging to support the next phase of these projects. He also honored the outstanding figures who contributed to ICT projects; Prof. Dr. Nabila Mohamed Hassan, from Fayoum University, was among them. The workshop closed with the speeches of the sponsor companies (Aruba - Microsoft - Oracle – Informatique Egypt), which referred to their contributions to the ICT projects and their future plans to support higher education in Egypt. |
