The University Hospitals Organizes the Third Annual Ceremony

Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata, President of Fayoum University, witnessed the activities of the third annual ceremony of university hospitals, coinciding with International Nurses Day, which was organized by university hospitals at Fayoum University, in the presence of Prof. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, Assistant Minister of Health for Institutional Development Affairs, and spokesman for the Ministry of Health and the former Secretary General of the Supreme Council of University Hospitals, Prof. Mohamed Farouk Al-Khabeeri, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Assem Fouad El-Essawy, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Prof. Hamdy Ibrahim, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, and Dr. Mohamed Safaa, Executive Director of University Hospitals, Mr. Ahmed Rashad, Acting Secretary-General of the University, members of the Board of Directors of University Hospitals, former deans of the College of Medicine, deputies of the College, general directors of departments, doctors and nursing staff at university hospitals, Sunday, 12/5/2024, in the Grand Celebration Hall of the Dome Building.
At the beginning of his speech, Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata said that this ceremony is considered a day of loyalty and return of gratitude to all doctors, nursing staff and administrators at university hospitals for their efforts in providing the best medical and therapeutic service to patients.
He also stated that the medical profession is considered a humanitarian profession in the first place, because it depends on good treatment of the patient and working to reassure him and not make him feel anxious as much as possible. He indicated that the emergency department is considered one of the most important departments in the hospital because of its major role in receiving patients, and its employees must have a high degree of calm, self-control, and good dealing with the patient’s family.
Prof. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar pointed out that despite the harsh conditions that the doctor faces during his work, whether in the work environment or during direct dealing with the patient, he must make every effort and endure the difficulties and pressures of work in order to save the patient’s life and relieve his pain and suffering.
As Prof. Hamdy Ibrahim said that university hospitals have gone through many different stages of development since their establishment, which made them distinct from other university hospitals in some other governorates, and able to compete in various specialties, stressing that the credit for this is due to the great efforts made by medical teams and hospital workers and university in general.
Prof. Ghada Al-Gallad, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, pointed out that nursing is considered a profession of compassion and humanity, and is the cornerstone of the health system, and its goal is to treat patients by implementing treatment plans, following up on their vital signs, assessing their stress, and being kind to them.
She explained that the nursing staff works day and night in solidarity and coordination with doctors in order to raise the level of health care for patients.
Prof. Naglaa El-Sherbiny, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development, said that all medical staff in university hospitals work in the spirit of one work team, whether they are doctors, pharmacists, or nurses.
She also stressed that while practicing the medical profession, the human and psychological aspects of dealing with the patient must be taken into account in order to provide distinguished medical and health services to patients.
For his part, Prof. Mohamed Safaa El-Din, stressed the main and pivotal role played by university hospitals in serving the external community and providing the best medical service to citizens in Fayoum Governorate in general.
He also explained that the administration of university hospitals always seeks to continuously expand in all the different departments in order to be able to accommodate the largest possible number of patients, and also seeks continuous development in the various departments in order to keep pace with technological development and the use of modern technologies in the field of medicine, and at the conclusion of his speech, he extended his thanks and appreciation to everyone who contributed to organizing the ceremony, and to everyone who contributed to achieving comprehensive development at university hospitals, including the heads of the university hospitals’ board of directors, department heads, doctors and nurses.
Mrs. Manal Yahia, Head of the Nursing Department at University Hospitals, said that the nursing profession is one of the highest professions, because it is linked to human health, preserving his life, and alleviating his suffering, stressing the role that the nursing staff exerts in order to improve the health service provided to our patients, as they are the best soldiers in the most honorable fields.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata, Prof. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, and Prof. Assem El-Essawy, former chairmen of the Board of Directors of University Hospitals, current and former university hospital directors, distinguished faculty members, doctors and administrators in various university hospital departments were honored.
