A Cooperation Protocol Between Fayoum University and the Arab Union for the Protection of Wildlife and Marine Life

Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata, President of Fayoum University, and Ambassador Mohamed Ahmed, Secretary General of the Council of Arab Economic Unity, witnessed the signing of the cooperation protocol between Fayoum University and the Arab Union for the Protection of Wildlife and Marine Life. The protocol was signed by Prof. Assem Fouad Al-Essawy, Vice President of Fayoum University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and on behalf of the Union, Prof. Gamal Gouma Madani, Secretary General of the Arab Union for the Protection of Wildlife and Marine Life, Monday, 20/5/2024.
Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata confirmed that due to the rapid development in all areas of development, especially human, sustainable and technological development, Fayoum University seeks to qualify students for the labor market. In this regard, the university is always keen to follow up on everything new in order to spread awareness of the importance of continuous training and qualification and to achieve a better future for everyone, and to provide benefit to students and graduates and to serve the community and develop the environment in general.
He indicated that the protocol includes the two parties working to train and develop all those targeted, and providing support and training and scientific assistance to colleges and the university in the field of protecting wildlife and marine life and the relevant university institutions, as well as organizing and holding training activities in various fields of training.
While Prof. Assem Fouad Al-Essawy reviewed what Fayoum University will do, which is preparing training courses and providing certified lecturers and trainers, as well as scientific material such as documentaries, pictures, and other scientific materials.
He added that the proposed seminars include seminars on the economic importance of wild plants, the role of medicinal and aromatic plants in resisting contemporary diseases, as well as rooftop farming, fish farming, courses for preparing an environmental guide, cultivation of halophytes, management and evaluation of natural reserves, climate change and its negative effects, and biodiversity.
He indicated that the Arab Union for the Protection of Wildlife and Marine Life will prepare training programs and joint projects to develop natural reserves and areas rich in wildlife and local communities, as well as provide scientific material and trainers for specialized courses in the field of biodiversity, wildlife and marine life, and approve certificates for passing the training courses by the Economic Unity Council. Arabic in coordination with Fayoum University.
The signing of the protocol was witnessed by Prof. Sahar Muhanna, Assistant Secretary of the Marine Environment at the Union, and Professor at the National Institute of Marine Sciences and Fisheries at Suez University, and Dr. Louay Al-Sayed Ahmed, Assistant Secretary of the Union for Projects, and Dr. Manar Gamal El-Din, Chairman of the Union’s Environmental Awareness Committee, Engineer/Wagdi Saad, Member of the Union’s Board of Directors, and Dr. Amr Sayed Heiba, member of the Federation’s Board of Directors and Director of the Sustainable Development Unit at the Environmental Affairs Agency, Fayoum Branch, Mr. Taher El-Hafnawy, Chairman of the Federation’s Planning and Follow-up Committee, and Dr. Mai Sayed Fouad, Dr. Asmaa Khamis Amin, Department of Botany, Faculty of Science.
