Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata, President of Fayoum University, witnessed the launch of the first day of the new academic year 2024/2025 with the salute to the flag and the national anthem, in the presence of Prof. Arafa Sabry Hassan, Vice President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Prof. Assem El-Essawy, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development and Supervisor of the Education and Students Sector, Deans of Faculties and their Deputies, faculty members and employees, and university students, which was organized by the General Administration of Youth Care, the Faculty of Physical Education, and the Students for Egypt Family, on Sunday, September 29, 2024, on the university campus.

Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata welcomed new and old students on the occasion of the start of the new academic year, wishing it to be a fruitful year for all university members, directing students to the importance of adhering to the lofty university values and traditions. Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata inspected the student activities organized by the General Administration of Youth Welfare, which included sports, cultural, artistic, social, family, scientific and technological activities, scouting, public service, unions and camps, and the faculties of Fayoum University participated in them, which included an awareness and educational campaign for students on the importance of exercising, the harms of obesity and smoking, measuring weight, height, blood pressure and sugar, in addition to projects for artificial intelligence models with the aim of serving those in charge of the medical sector, regarding breast cancer, as well as models for projects for 3D printing and solar cells, and displaying fossils, rocks, minerals, plant models and chemical reagents. The activities also included sports games, table tennis, speedball, chess, various cultural competitions, singing, playing, classical and colloquial poetry, drawing and artistic sketches, and setting up tents and gates for scouting. The Student Union also distributed forms to students with the aim of introducing and encouraging participation in various student activities. The university Accommodations was also inspected to ensure the readiness of the student housing rooms, and the clinic for conducting medical examinations for new students was inspected, which included the specialties of ophthalmology, dentistry and internal medicine, where students register on the official website of Fayoum University and set examination dates and announce the results.
