Fayoum University Rises 3 Positions Nationally to Achieve 8th Place Among Egyptian Universities According to the British Times Ranking

Fayoum University has made significant progress both locally and globally in the 2025 Times Higher Education World University Ranking. The university has advanced to the 8th position (up from 11th place last year) among Egyptian universities. It has been ranked in the fourth category among over 2,857 universities worldwide, representing more than 108 countries.
It is worth noting that the Times Higher Education ranking is one of the most recognized global rankings. It relies on five main indicators to assess universities:
1. Teaching (30%) – This includes academic reputation, the student-to-faculty ratio, the ratio of bachelor’s to doctoral degree holders, the percentage of faculty with doctoral degrees, and institutional income.
2. Research (30%) – This includes research reputation, research income, and research productivity.
3. Scientific Research Quality (30%) – This is measured by the number of citations.
4. International Diversity (7.5%) – This includes the percentage of international students, the percentage of international faculty members, and international collaboration.
5. Industry Income and Innovation (2.5%) – This includes knowledge transfer and patents.
