Fayoum University Organizes a Comprehensive Development Convoy in Motwal Village

Under the patronage of Dr. Ahmed Al-Ansari, Governor of Fayoum, Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata, President of Fayoum University, Prof. Assem Al-Essawy, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and the supervision of Prof. Hamdy Mohamed Ibrahim, Dean of Faculty of Medicine, and Prof. Lamia Ahmed Ibrahim. Dean of Faculty of Dentistry, and Dr. Sameh Ashmawy, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Fayoum. The Community Service and Environmental Development Sector, in cooperation with the Hayah Karima Foundation, the Faculty of Medicine, the Faculty of Dentistry, the Faculty of Nursing, the Faculty of Agriculture, and the Faculty of Arts, organized a comprehensive convoy, in the presence of Dr. Ahmed Gamal. Deputy Coordinator of Hayah Karima in Fayoum, Mr. Mohamed Ali Taha, Director of the Conferences and Seminars Department in the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector, and Mr. Ahmed Al-Qalli, Coordinator of the Hayah Karima Foundation in Itsa Center, today, Wednesday, 10/7/2024, at the health unit headquarters in Motwal village, Itsa Center.
Prof. Assem Al-Essawy stated that the medical convoy succeeded in providing medical examination and treatment for 1,215 cases, of which 235 were examined in the orthopedic specialty, 107 dental cases, 235 internal medicine cases, 210 children, 85 gynecology cases, 120 ophthalmia cases, and 193 skin cases.
He added that the Faculty of Agriculture conducted training on how to manufacture dairy products, and Prof. Wedad Azab, professor in the Dairy Department at the Faculty of Agriculture, lectured. The training workshop dealt with how to manufacture yogurt with the trainees and explained the stages of manufacturing with high quality, in addition to how to create a small yogurt project so that It will be a continuous source of income for the individual. Damietta cheese was also manufactured with an explanation of how and the stages of its production in a simplified manner along with the mechanism of preserving the product in the correct ways so that 50 housewives benefited from this training. At the end of the training, questions related to the training topic were answered.
He added that the Faculty of Nursing participated during the convoy in a symposium entitled: First Aid, in which Mrs. Shukran Rajab Salama, assistant lecturer at the Faculty of Nursing, and Mrs. Sarah Sayed Salama lectured. The symposium dealt with how to help the patient, in order to preserve the life of the injured person, prevent it from deteriorating, and how to call an ambulance. The diagnosis of the injury is based on the gender and age of the injured person, the number of injuries, the extent of the injured person’s response, an accurate description of the address, how to deal with the injured person until the ambulance arrives, ensuring safety and providing possible assistance to the patient, and the necessity of having a first aid box and its components (medical gauze, cotton, adhesive tapes, compression bandage, alcohol, gloves). and other possible tools and medications).
This is in addition to implementing an awareness campaign about the dangers of illegal immigration, in which Dr. Muhammad Hussein Bakr, a lecturer in the Department of Geography and Information Systems at the Faculty of Arts, addressed the dangers of illegal immigration and the methods used in immigration, such as rickety boats, which may lead to death at sea or exposure to imprisonment or deportation, or working in inferior jobs and being exposed to public and non-public discrimination. Young immigrants may also be exposed to being involved in criminal activities or those related to human trafficking, such as weapons, drugs, or other immoral activities. 30 housewives benefited from this training. Questions related to the issue of illegal immigration were answered.
At the end of the convoy, the villagers thanked Fayoum University and the Hayah Karima Foundation for the efforts made in the convoy.
