The President of Fayoum University Receives a Number of Doctors from African countries

Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata, President of Fayoum University, received a number of doctors from African countries as part of the Health Care Safety and Quality Program, which is organized by the Faculty of Medicine at Fayoum University in cooperation with the Japanese Cooperation Authority (JICA) in the presence of Prof. Hamdy Ibrahim, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, and Prof. Naglaa El-Sherbiny, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, today, Monday, 15/7/2024, in the meeting room.
Prof. Yasser Hatata stated that the program aims to train 15 doctors from 6 African countries: Ghana, Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Madagascar, and Mozambique on how to provide quality and safe health care services, manage hospitals and health institutions, exchange experiences, prepare plans, and solve health sector problems.
He pointed out that Fayoum University is keen to receive many researchers, trainees and students from various sisterly African countries, as Egypt has strong historical relations with them.
Prof. Hamdy Ibrahim explained that the Faculty of Medicine organizes this program in cooperation with the Japanese Cooperation Authority on a periodic basis, changing its objectives and axes every period, for the purpose of gaining experience and learning about current challenges in various medical specialties.
Prof. Naglaa El-Sherbiny confirmed that the training program extends from 14/7/2024 to 18/7/2024 and includes training within university hospitals, Ministry of Health hospitals, and 57357 Hospital.
Prof. Mohammed Safaa, Executive Director of University Hospitals, said that managing health institutions requires a high degree of flexibility, noting that the university hospitals’ work team works as a single unit and a collective work team.
He explained the departments and specializations, the numbers of doctors and nurses, and the services provided by university hospitals free of charge.
