Under the patronage of Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata, President of Fayoum University, Prof. Arafa Sabry Hassan, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, attended a seminar titled "October: The Strategy of Victory and Transition to the Future." The event was part of the celebrations commemorating the October War victories, supervised by Prof. Assem Fouad El-Essawy, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development and Supervisor of the Education and Student Affairs Sector. The seminar was organized by the Faculty of Social Work in collaboration with the Nile Media Center in Fayoum and was attended by Prof. Ahmed Hosny, Dean of the Faculty of Social Work; Prof. Nadia Abdel Aziz, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development; Colonel Ahmed Alaa, Deputy Military Advisor in Fayoum; Mr. Mohamed Hashem, Director of the Nile Media Center in Fayoum; Mr. Mohamed Saad, Director of North Upper Egypt Media; as well as faculty members, media representatives, veterans, and students on Monday, October 7, 2024, in the Faculty’s conference hall.

In his opening remarks, Prof. Arafa Sabry congratulated the attendees on the anniversary of the glorious October War victory, emphasizing that the 1973 war gave all of us valuable lessons, which are faith in God and trust in Him, strategic planning, commitment, faith in success and not surrendering to despair, preserving the Egyptian identity, secrecy and the element of surprise and strategic deception, and arming ourselves with science and knowledge.

He also pointed out the need to be aware and vigilant and not listen to any rumors or false news that aim to destroy the determination and will of the Egyptians.

Prof. Ahmed Hosny praised the sacrifices made by the armed forces and the heroes of the October War, stressing that everyone should be ready to sacrifice their lives for the nation. He encouraged students to pursue their goals and dreams that would elevate and advance the country, nurture a spirit of patriotism, and remain cautious of harmful rumors. He affirmed that the youth are the builders of the future and must be vigilant against misinformation.

Colonel Ahmed Alaa reaffirmed that the Egyptian armed forces spare no effort in defending the nation's assets anytime and anywhere, urging the attendees to support the military and unify around the political leadership and the armed forces, especially in these times.

During the seminar, some veterans shared their heroic stories from the October War.

Mr. Mohamed Hashem noted that the Nile Media Center regularly organizes seminars and conferences on the October victories each year to inform students and young people about the immense sacrifices made by the armed forces to reclaim every inch of Egypt and uphold Egyptian and Arab dignity.

Mr. Mohamed Saad highlighted the challenges Egypt faces in the current generational conflicts, advising students to stay informed and support the wise political leadership. He emphasized that the motto of the armed forces is "victory or martyrdom," encouraging students to learn about the history of their country and its achievements in both war and peace.

The seminar also included artistic segments such as poetry and singing. At the conclusion, Prof. Arafa Sabry honored the university's distinguished guests with certificates of appreciation.
