Fayoum University Organizes a Comprehensive Convoy in the Village of Bahr Abu Al-meer, Itsa Markaz, as Part of the Presidential Initiative "A New Beginning for Building Humanity."

Within the framework of the presidential initiative "A New Beginning for Building Humanity," and with the patronage of Dr. Ahmed Al-Ansari, Governor of Fayoum, and Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata, President of the University, supervised by Prof. Assem El-Essawy, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development and supervisor of the Education and Student Affairs sector, Prof. Naglaa El-Sherbini, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, and Dr. Sameh Ashmawy, Director of the Health Directorate in Fayoum, the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector organized a comprehensive convoy. The event, in cooperation with the Faculty of Medicine, the Fayoum Health Directorate, the university's Anti-Violence Against Women Unit, and the Students for Egypt team, took place on Monday, October 14, 2024, at Bahr Abu Al-Meer Primary School in Itsa Markaz.
Prof. Asim Al-Eisawy stated that Fayoum University’s involvement in the national human development project, "A New Beginning for Building Humanity," is based on directives from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to implement a variety of programs, activities, and services for all age groups. This initiative aligns with the university’s mission to support the local community, provide medical services, and raise awareness on social issues.
He added that the convoy continued medical services under the presidential initiative in Bahr Abu Al-Meer, with a distinguished team of doctors specializing in internal medicine, pediatrics, gynecology, ophthalmology, and orthopedics. A total of 1,016 cases were examined, including 185 internal medicine, 223 pediatric, 68 gynecology, 343 ophthalmology, and 197 orthopedics cases, with all patients receiving necessary medications provided by the Hayat Karima Foundation.
Additionally, the Anti-Violence Against Women Unit conducted an awareness campaign on women’s issues. Dr. Mai Mawaheb, a member of the unit, led discussions with residents, addressing violence against women in rural Egypt, verbal abuse’s impact on parenting, early marriage and its causes, and the balance between education and early marriage for girls. Women's participation in the costs of life and managing their household financially were also discussed. The team educated 93 women and girls on various forms of violence and its effects on individuals, families, and society.
Hayah Karima Foundation in Fayoum also organized entertainment for the children of the village and held artistic shows promoting the importance of education and the dangers of smoking.
Prof. El-Essawy confirmed that Fayoum University will continue to organize medical, nursing, awareness, and veterinary convoys in several villages across Fayoum governorate throughout the duration of the "A New Beginning for Building Humanity" initiative.
