Fayoum University Organizes a Medical Convoy in Dar Al-Salam Village, Tamiya Markaz, as Part of the Presidential Initiative "A New Beginning for Human Development"

Within the framework of the presidential initiative "A New Beginning for Human Development" and under the patronage of Dr. Ahmed Al-Ansari, Governor of Fayoum, and Prof. Dr. Yasser Magdy Hatata, President of the University, the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector organized a medical convoy in collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine, the Directorate of Health in Fayoum, and the University's Anti-Violence Against Women Unit. This effort, held on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at the health unit in Dar Al-Salam village, Tamiya Markaz, also involved students from the "Students for Egypt" team.
Prof. Assem El-Essawy, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, stated that Fayoum University’s participation in the national human development project "A New Beginning for Human Development" aligns with directives from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to implement a variety of programs, activities, and services for all age groups. He emphasized the university's role and the mission of the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector to serve the local community by providing diverse medical services and essential community awareness.
He added that the day's medical convoy, organized as part of the presidential initiative in Dar Al-Salam village, included an elite group of doctors specializing in orthopedics, pediatrics, and gynecology. A total of 253 patients were examined, including 87 children, 48 gynecological cases, and 118 orthopedic cases.
Additionally, the university's Anti-Violence Against Women Unit conducted an awareness campaign during the convoy, led by Dr. Noheir El-Shoushani, the unit's director. The campaign addressed issues of violence against women, focusing on manifestations of violence in rural Egypt, how to handle verbal abuse, its impact on child-rearing, and the issue of early marriage. Discussions included the importance of girls continuing their education versus early marriage, women's financial contributions to their households, and managing household expenses. The campaign reached 93 women and girls in the village.
He affirmed that Fayoum University will continue organizing medical, nursing, awareness, and veterinary convoys in various villages of Fayoum Governorate throughout the duration of the "A New Beginning for Human Development" initiative.
