Opening of the Ideal Student Competition at the University Level

Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata, President of Fayoum University, inaugurated the Ideal Student Competition for male and female students at the university level, organized by the General Administration of Youth Welfare, the Social Activity and Student Families Department. The event was attended by Prof. Arafa Sabry, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research; Prof. Assem El-Essawy, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development and Supervisor of the Education and Student Affairs Sector; Prof. Wael Tobar, Head of the Competition’s Judging Committee and General Coordinator of Student Activities at the University; as well as members of the judging committee, administrators, and participating students. The event took place today, Sunday, 10/11/2024, at the Central Library Conference Hall.
Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata emphasized that the Ideal Student Competition identifies students who excel academically and ethically, in addition to excellence in student activities and active participation in all events and occasions within the university.
He noted that all students nominated by their respective faculties for the university-level competition demonstrate a high degree of excellence and positivity.
He urged students to benefit from the expertise and experiences of their professors, maintain constant communication with them, heed their advice, and cultivate patience and innovative thinking to achieve their future goals.
Prof. Hatata also praised the efforts of the judging committee members, who work tirelessly throughout the day to select three ideal male students and three ideal female students. These finalists will proceed to compete for the title of Ideal Student at the level of Egyptian universities.
On his part, Prof. Arafa Sabry highlighted that participation in student activities plays a vital role in shaping the student’s personality, developing their ideas, and refining their skills. He affirmed that the university's primary objective is to graduate individuals capable of competing, contributing to society, and addressing its challenges.
Prof. Assem El-Essawy mentioned that 62 students from across the university are participating in the competition, which aims to raise student awareness, strengthen bonds of knowledge among them, foster a spirit of competition, loyalty, and belonging, and encourage the exchange of experiences, skills, and knowledge.
He commended the organization of the competition and the evaluation criteria and tests established, covering various aspects that differentiate between the competing students.
Prof. Wael Tobar explained that the evaluation criteria include a written computer skills test, a written general knowledge test, a presentation, personal traits, general appearance, the ability to conduct dialogue, academic excellence, previous academic performance, human development, community service, general culture (oral), student activities (faculty, university, national, and international levels), and proficiency in Arabic and English languages.
