About Department
The Mission:
Prepare a graduate who possesses the skills of research, analysis, investigation and criticism, using modern cognitive methods in the field of historical studies, and who is able to compete locally and globally, and qualify him/her to work in various educational, cultural and media institutions through a transformative training program, in order to achieve the goals of sustainable development, given that history is the foundation of different science; in addition to preserving the Arab, Islamic and national identity and social values, and providing correct historical knowledge that helps understand and solve many of the problems facing the development of society through modern technologies.
The Objectives:1- Develop national awareness among graduates through the study of Egyptian history throughout the ages, and the role of history in preserving national identity.
2- Consolidate the values of citizenship and strengthen Arab and Islamic identity.
3- Activate historical research employing modern technologies in the field of historical work.
4- Provide advanced study programs that contribute to preparing qualified cadres that achieve the goals of sustainable development plans and meet the needs of the labor market.
5- Understand the ethics of scientific research and professional practice in the field of history.
6- Provide students with the research skills necessary to communicate and cooperate with the local community in real life and electronically, by dealing with various historical documents and sources.
7- Contribute to protecting human heritage from attempts at distortion, forgery, obliteration, by collecting, analyzing and using various information using modern information technology.
8- Encourage history program students to conduct field studies, directly observing the archaeological and heritage environment, practically describing and analyzing historical events and facts.
9- Prepare a graduate who possesses the academic, professional and ethical skills that qualify him/her to teach different historical eras at all educational levels.
10- Identify the most important issues and problems which have historical roots, and contribute to developing appropriate solutions through scientific research and conferences.
