At 9:00 AM on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, the Department Council of Geographical Studies was held under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Hamed Hamed Mohamed Awad Al-Asfoury, Assistant Professor of Physical Geography and Acting Head of the Department Council, and in the presence of members: Prof. Dr. Hassan Mohamed Ibrahim Hassouna, Professor of Human Geography and former Dean of the Institute; Prof. Dr. Nasser Abd El-Sattar Abd El-Hadi, Assistant Professor of Physical Geography and Deputy Director of the Institute for Postgraduate Studies and Research; and Dr. Ahmed Mostafa Gomaa Abdel Wahab, Lecturer of Population Geography.

The meeting began with a welcome speech by Prof. Dr. Hamed Hamed Mohamed Awad Al-Asfoury, followed by a discussion of the agenda items. The minutes of the previous meeting were approved, and the annual and semi-annual progress reports for master's and Ph.D. .students were endorsed.
