The doctoral dissertation submitted by student Hossam Sadek Abdel-Tawab Sadek, specializing in Human Geography (Economic Geography), entitled "Spatial Analysis of the Transportation Network in Addis Ababa: An Applied Study in Transportation Geography Using Geographic Information Systems," was discussed on Thursday, September 11, 2025.
The discussion and judging committee consisted of the following professors:
Prof. Dr. Mohamed Zaki El-Sedimi: Professor Emeritus of Economic Geography and Geographic Information Systems, former Dean of the Faculty of Arts at Tanta University, and President of the Egyptian Geographical Society (Supervisor and Chair)
Prof. Dr. Aziza Ali Badr: Professor Emeritus of Human Geography at the Faculty of African Studies, Cairo University (Examiner and Member)
Prof. Dr. Hassan Mohamed Ibrahim Hassouna: Professor Emeritus of Human Geography and former Dean of the Institute of Research and Strategic Studies for Nile Basin Countries, Fayoum University (Principal Supervisor and Member)
Prof. Dr. Ehab Lotfy El-Brins: Professor of Economic Geography at the Faculty of Arts, Port Said University (Examiner and Member)

Prof. Dr. Nasser Abdel-Sattar El-Shereei: Professor of Physical Geography The Institute's Vice Dean for Graduate Studies, Dr. Ahmed Fouad El-Maghazi, Assistant Professor of Population Geography, and the Institute's Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, Dr. Hamed Hamed El-Asfouri, Assistant Professor of Physical Geography and Head of the Department of Geographical Studies, along with faculty members, graduate students, and a group of the researcher's family and colleagues, were present. Following the public discussion, the researcher was awarded a PhD with First Class Honors.
