Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Yasser Magdi Hatata, President of Fayoum University, Prof. Dr. Asem Al-Isawi, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development and Supervisor of the Institute of Strategic Research and Studies for the Nile Basin Countries, witnessed a seminar on "The Strategic Importance of the Nile Basin Countries". The seminar was held under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Nasser Abd El-Sattar, Deputy Director of the Institute for Postgraduate Studies, Research, and Cultural Relations.
Prof. Dr. Adli Sadawi Talaba, Professor of Agricultural Economics and former Dean of the Institute, delivered a lecture on the strategic perspective of the Nile Basin countries, discussing the issue of the Renaissance Dam, the conflict zone in East Africa, and the economic, political, and water security importance of the Nile Basin countries.
Prof. Dr. Nasser Abd El-Sattar emphasized that the Nile River is not just a watercourse, but a lifeline that cannot be compromised. He highlighted the strategic importance of the Nile Basin countries in three main dimensions: geographical, developmental, and cultural.
Dean Dr. Khaled Fahmy, Advisor to the Center for Strategic Studies of the Armed Forces, discussed the strategic importance of the Nile Basin region from a security and military perspective, highlighting the unique geographical location of the region and its control over important global waterways.
The seminar concluded with a discussion session, where attendees raised questions and received answers from the speakers, and the guests were honored.
