Master’s Thesis Defense Entitled “The Impact of COVID-19 Pandemic on Training Policies of Human Resources in Egyptian Tourism Companies” at the Department of Tourism Studies

Under the patronage of Prof. Nancy Mohamed Fawzy, Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels – Fayoum University, the master’s thesis defense was held on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, for the researcher Mahmoud Ismail Mohamed Ismail Sharkawy, of the Department of Tourism Studies, entitled:

“The Impact of COVID-19 Pandemic on Training Policies of Human Resources in Egyptian Tourism Companies”

The examination and evaluation committee was composed of:

  • Prof. Ashraf El-Sayed Abdel Maboud, Professor at the Department of Hotel Studies, Faculty of Tourism and Hotels – Fayoum University, Chair and Examiner.
  • Prof. Hala Ahmed Ali Gomaa, Professor at the Department of Tourism Studies, Faculty of Tourism and Hotels – Capital University (formerly Helwan University), Examiner.
  • Prof. Nancy Mohamed Fawzy Gamal El-Din, Professor at the Department of Tourism Studies, Faculty of Tourism and Hotels – Fayoum University, Supervisor.
  • Assistant Professor Marwa Abdel Tawab Mahmoud El-Omda, Assistant Professor at the Department of Tourism Studies, Faculty of Tourism and Hotels – Fayoum University, Supervisor.

The committee commended the researcher’s scholarly level and the seriousness of the topic addressed, which examines the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on human resources training policies in the tourism sector.

This comes within the framework of the Faculty’s commitment to supporting postgraduate students’ research and encouraging them to study contemporary issues that serve the tourism sector.
