Dual Degrees, English-Medium Instruction, Practical Training, and International Exchange.. the Faculty's First Programs Under International Standards
Prof. Sherif El-Attar, Acting President of Fayoum University, announced the launch of the first international programs at the university's Faculty of Tourism and Hotels: the Bachelor's Program in International Hotel Management and the Professional MBA in International Hotel Management, in partnership with Vatel International Hotel and Tourism Management School in France, following the issuance of two ministerial decrees in which Prof. Abdel Aziz Kansouh, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, approved the issuance and activation of the unified academic regulations for both programs.
Prof. Sherif El-Attar affirmed that launching the first international programs at the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels represents a new milestone in Fayoum University's journey toward the internationalization of education and the strengthening of cooperation with international educational institutions, noting that the university is working to develop its academic programs in line with global developments, offering students educational and training opportunities aligned with labor market requirements.
He also explained that the partnership with Vatel falls within the university's orientation toward developing specialized educational programs that benefit from international expertise, affirming that the start of instruction in both programs represents a practical step toward benefiting from the signed agreement and offering international education to students within Fayoum University, thereby enhancing their career opportunities and strengthening their competitiveness in the labor market.
Prof. Sherif El-Attar added that the new programs combine academic study, practical training, and international exchange opportunities, enabling students to become familiar with modern working methods in the hotel and hospitality sector, and to benefit from the expertise provided by Vatel.
For his part, Prof. Asem El-Eisawy, Vice President of Fayoum University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs and Supervisor of the Postgraduate Studies Sector, affirmed that the Professional MBA in International Hotel Management represents an addition to the university's professional postgraduate programs, offering specialized study in international hotel management that combines theoretical knowledge with practical application.
He explained that the program aligns with the university's orientation toward developing postgraduate programs and linking them to labor market needs, while benefiting from international expertise, helping to prepare specialized professionals in hotel and hospitality management and to raise the efficiency of workers in the hospitality sector.
In the same context, Prof. Nancy Mohamed Fawzy, Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels, explained that the two programs represent a new addition to the Faculty, combining specialized study with practical training, helping students acquire the skills necessary to work in the hotel and hospitality sector.
She noted that the Bachelor's Program in International Hotel Management is taught in English and applies the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS), with a total of 240 credit points, alongside field training, giving students practical experience alongside their academic study.
She added that the partnership with Vatel offers students opportunities for international academic exchange, and allows them to benefit from the educational and training expertise provided by the group, helping them become familiar with the nature of work in the hospitality sector according to international practices.
The Bachelor's Program in International Hotel Management allows students to obtain a dual degree within the framework of the partnership between Fayoum University and Vatel, thereby supporting their academic and professional opportunities in the fields of hotels and hospitality.
As for the Professional MBA in International Hotel Management, it offers specialized study in the field of hotel management, in accordance with the academic regulations approved by the Ministry, enabling students to develop their knowledge and managerial and professional skills within their field of specialization.
These programs represent the first international programs at the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels, Fayoum University, and come as part of the university's efforts to develop its educational programs, expand international cooperation, and offer students opportunities for education, training, and academic exchange, thereby supporting their preparation to work in the tourism and hospitality sector and aligning with labor market needs.
