The Academy of
Scientific Research and Technology announces
the opening of
applications for the sixth season of its Scientific Photography Competition to
select the best scientific photographs of 2026.
This initiative
aligns with the Academy's role in promoting scientific culture and fostering
communication between science and society.
This competition,
the first of its kind organized by the Academy through its Scientific and
Cultural Relations Sector, invites all those interested in scientific
photography to participate. The terms and conditions of the competition are

From January 1,
2026, to February 28, 2026.

Categories:
- Hidden Worlds: Microscopic images revealing
details invisible to the eye.
- Our Changing Planet: Climate change,
biodiversity, and geological phenomena, in line with Egypt's Vision 2030.
- Symphony of Life: Documenting the behavior of
living organisms and their environmental interactions.
- Space and the Universe: Astronomical phenomena,
stars, and space technology applications.
- Engineering and Innovation: Sustainable
architecture, robotics, and modern technological applications.
- People of Science: Documenting scientists and
researchers at work in laboratories or in the field.
Participation
Requirements:
- Images must be original and taken by the
participant.
- Attach the original metadata file (EXIF Data)
for each image.
- Generative artificial intelligence is not
permitted, but minor technical enhancements that do not affect the scientific
phenomenon are allowed.
- Attach a precise scientific description for
each image (30-100 words).
- Adhere to scientific ethics and do not harm
living organisms or the environment.
- There are no entry fees for the competition.
- Participants agree to grant the Academy the
right to use the images for its scientific and cultural purposes.
Prizes:
Valuable cash
prizes will be awarded to the winners in each category:
- First Place: 20,000 EGP
- Second Place: 15,000 EGP
- Third Place: 10,000 EGP
