Closing of the Presidential Initiative “Tamkeen"

Under the patronage of Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata, President of Fayoum University, Prof. Assem El-Essawy, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development and Supervisor of Postgraduate Studies and Research, attended the closing ceremony of the presidential initiative "Tamkeen" (Empowerment), launched to promote the rights of persons with disabilities under the slogan: "Together Towards an Inclusive Future."

The ceremony was also attended by Prof. Ahmed Ali Khattab, Dean of the Faculty of Education; Prof. Asmaa Ismail, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Archaeology for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Rania Shaaban, Director of the Center for the Care and Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities; Prof. Wael Tobar, General Coordinator of Student Activities at the University; and a number of faculty members, staff, and students. The event took place on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at the Institute of Research and Strategic Studies for Nile Basin Countries.

Prof. Assem El-Essawy emphasized that the presidential initiative "Tamkeen" aims to effectively integrate persons with disabilities into the university community and provide them with a suitable educational environment that enables them to thrive and excel. He noted their significant creative abilities and their tangible achievements in various fields and at all levels. He also emphasized the university administration's full support for initiatives that serve this group, contributing to improving their future and quality of life. He praised the efforts of the Center for the Care and Rehabilitation of People with Disabilities and the services it has provided to achieve its goals.

For her part, Prof. Rania Shaaban explained that the initiative's activities focused primarily on promoting a culture of academic and social inclusion, aiming to understand the nature of students with disabilities, facilitate communication with them, and work to meet their needs. She noted the center's efforts to better prepare them for the job market through a range of specialized training programs that enable them to compete and achieve success.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, a number of faculty members, staff, and students who participated in the initiative were honored.
