Prof.
Yasser Magdy Hatata, President of Fayoum University, inaugurated the
university's new version website and electronic student information system, as
part of the university's plan to automate student services and develop its
digital infrastructure. The inauguration was attended by Prof. Assem El-Essawy,
Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Sherif El-Attar, Vice President for
Education and Student Affairs; Prof. Arafa Sabry, Former Vice President for
Postgraduate Studies and Research; Mr. Ahmed Rashad, Secretary General of the
University, Prof. Rania Abu El-Saoud,
Acting Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Director of the University
Information Center, Prof. Ahmed Baqoush,
Director of the Administrative Systems Project; Dr. Ahmed Salama, Director of
the Electronic Portal Project; and a number of deans, vice deans, and
administrators. The event took place on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, in the
Grand Conference Hall.
During
the events, Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata explained that the university
administration is striving to achieve complete digital transformation across
all colleges and departments, aiming to create a sophisticated educational and
administrative environment. He noted that the use of modern technologies has
become a fundamental element in achieving the university's strategic goals.
He
emphasized that the launch of the new website and student information system
marks the beginning of a new phase of development, calling for continued
efforts toward ongoing updates and improvements. He also expressed his
gratitude to all those involved in completing this project.
Prof. Assem
El-Essawy further pointed out that digital transformation is a cornerstone of
modern management and scientific research, contributing to sustainable
development. He stressed that the future requires investment in knowledge,
enhancing institutional performance, and strengthening electronic services.
Prof. Sherif El-Attar explained
that the university places the student at the heart of the digital
transformation process. The development of the information system and website
aims to facilitate easy and convenient access to academic and administrative
services.
For her part, Prof. Rania Abu Al-Soud discussed the efforts made to improve and update databases, unify systems, and develop the university's IT infrastructure, creating integration among various digital services.
Prof. Ahmed Baqoush added that the
Management Information Systems (MIS) project is one of the most important
pillars of the university's digital transformation. It embodies an ambitious vision
for a smart university managed electronically with efficiency and flexibility,
through a unified central database that connects different departments and
contributes to the accurate retrieval of grade data and graduation
certificates, while also supporting the credit hour system.
Dr. Ahmed Salama reviewed the most prominent developments in the new website, which serves as the university's digital interface. He explained that it was designed in a modern style in terms of content, effectiveness, security, and linguistic diversity, enabling international users to easily access the university's services and academic courses.
At the conclusion of the event,
the project team, including the network and website teams and the Faculty of
Computers and Artificial Intelligence, was honored in recognition of their
efforts in successfully completing the development and modernization process.
