Medical Convoy Provides Comprehensive Healthcare Services to the People of Mansha’at Abdullah Village

Under the patronage of Dr. Ahmed Al-Ansary, Governor of Fayoum, and Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata, President of Fayoum University, Prof. Assem El-Essawy, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, inspected the comprehensive medical convoy organized by the Community Service and Environmental Development sector, in partnership with the Hayah Karima Foundation, for the residents of Manshaat Abdullah village in Fayoum Governorate. This initiative was conducted in cooperation with the Faculty of Medicine and the Center for the Care and Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities at Fayoum University.

The convoy was supervised by Prof. Naglaa El-Sherbiny, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine; Dr. Nevin Shaaban, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Fayoum; Colonel Dr. Emad Adel, Head of the Hayah Karima Foundation in Fayoum; Dr. Rania Shaaban, Director of the Center for the Care and Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities at Fayoum University; and Mr. Abdel-Nasser Bakry, Director General of the General Administration for Community Service and Environmental Development. The convoy took place on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at the village's health unit.

Prof. Assem El-Essawy explained that the medical convoy successfully provided free medical examinations and treatment to 1,379 residents of the village and surrounding areas. These included 280 internal medicine cases, 297 dermatology cases, 347 pediatric cases, 198 ear, nose, and throat cases, and 257 orthopedic cases.

The convoy also included awareness sessions organized by the Center for the Care and Rehabilitation of People with Disabilities at Fayoum University. Prof. Rania Shaaban indicated that the aim of these sessions was to highlight the importance of early detection of disabilities, raise awareness about them, and discuss the causes of various disabilities, methods of prevention, and the genetic and environmental factors that contribute to them. This was done to provide appropriate support to those affected and their families.

She also discussed the different types of disabilities, mental and psychological health, and their impact on individuals' behavior and relationships, as well as how to improve these aspects for the benefit of all.

Mr. Abdel Nasser Bakry emphasized the keenness of the Fayoum University administration to provide diverse medical and awareness services to serve the local community of Fayoum Governorate.
