Under the patronage of Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata,
President of Fayoum University, and the supervision of Prof. Assem El-Essawy,
Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development and
Supervisor of the Postgraduate Studies and Research Sector, the University's
Digital Library Unit concluded its two-day workshop on "The Egyptian
Knowledge Bank Services, How to Use Them, the Resources Available on the
Website from Various Publishers, the Browsing System, and the Unified Search
Engine."
The workshop was attended by Prof. Arafa Sabry
Hassan, Former Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research; Prof.
Rania Abo El-Soud, Executive Director of the University Information Center and
Acting Dean of the Faculty of Engineering; Prof. Asmaa Kamal, Director of the
University's Digital Library Unit; representatives from international
publishing houses; and a number of faculty members, researchers, and students.
The closing ceremony took place on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at the
University's Central Library. During the closing ceremony, Prof. Arafa Sabry
noted that the Egyptian Knowledge Bank is a pioneering national project. He
explained that Fayoum University is keen to participate continuously in these
meetings due to their positive impact on enriching scientific research,
emphasizing the university's distinguished position within relevant scientific
circles.
He added that successful endeavors are driven by dedicated and proactive teams, and that knowledge is only attained through patience, perseverance, and diligence.
Prof. Rania Abu El-Soud further explained that
the university's Information Center plays a pivotal role in serving researchers
at the diploma, master's, and doctoral levels by providing highly efficient
technical and research support. She affirmed that the Egyptian Knowledge Bank
contains everything a researcher needs, from scientific resources and theses to
advanced research tools.
