The UI
GreenMetric World University Rankings 2025 has announced its results, which
included 1,547 universities from 105 countries worldwide.

Fayoum
University distinguished itself in the rankings, achieving a high ranking of
595 globally and 18th in Africa.
At the
national level, Fayoum University ranked 15th among Egyptian
universities. It also ranked third in the Waste indicator, fifth in the
Education & Research indicator, and eighth in the Water indicator.
It is
worth noting that the UI GreenMetric ranking is an Indonesian ranking that
measures universities' performance in the field of sustainability. Its
evaluation of universities is based on six main criteria: First, Settings &
Infrastructure (15%), which focuses on the university's green facilities and
infrastructure; second, Energy & Climate (21%), which focuses on energy,
climate change, conserving energy in university buildings, and developing
environmentally friendly energy sources; third, Waste (18%), which focuses on
the university's contribution to waste recycling; fourth, Water (10%), which
focuses on the optimal use of water and conservation; and fifth, Transportation
(18%), which focuses on the use of sustainable transportation on campus to
reduce carbon emissions. And emissions, sixth – Education & Research (18%),
which focuses on supporting a sustainable educational and research environment.
