Fayoum University Launches the 14th Scout and Guide Festival Under the Slogan “With Knowledge and Work, We Achieve Egypt’s Vision 2030"

Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata, President of Fayoum University, accompanied by Prof. Sherif El-Attar, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and Mr. Ahmed Rashad, Secretary General of the University, attended the 14th Scout and Guide Festival for university scouts and guides, held under the slogan "With Knowledge and Work, We Achieve Egypt's Vision 2030." The festival, organized by the General Administration for Student Welfare and the Scouting and Public Service Department, took place from February 7th to 12th, 2026.

The event was also attended by several deans and vice deans, the Assistant Secretary General for Financial Affairs, the Director General of the General Administration for Student Welfare, administrators, and students. The opening ceremony was held on Wednesday, February 11th, 2026, on the university campus.

Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata expressed his pleasure at attending the festival, which he described as an important platform for showcasing the talents and abilities of young people. He emphasized the importance of student activities in developing well-rounded students and honing their leadership and social skills. He affirmed the university's commitment to supporting student activities, which he considers a cornerstone in preparing a generation capable of shouldering responsibility. For his part, Professor Sherif Al-Attar emphasized that these student activities provide students with numerous benefits, including fostering teamwork and strengthening national identity. He noted the participation of 12 colleges, in addition to university dormitories, in the festival. Participants were divided into teams under the supervision of student leaders ("Festival Supporters"), along with leaders and assistant leaders, in a step aimed at enhancing and maximizing self-leadership skills among students.

He explained that the festival's competitions encompass 12 diverse fields: religious studies, scientific applications, environmental studies, arts and literature, economics, citizenship, health, sports, life skills, public service, global economy, scouting traditions and arts, aspirations and leadership, public relations and media, and finally, scouting values ​​and attitudes.

He added that the final evaluation will take place at the festival's conclusion, and the winners of the top three places will be announced. The colleges that won first, second, and third place, respectively, will also be honored. He wished all participants the best of luck.

During the events, Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata, President of Fayoum University, accompanied by Prof. Sherif Al-Attar, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, and the attendees, inspected the parade of the colleges participating in the festival and the scouting grounds on the university campus.
