Under the patronage of Prof. Abdel Aziz Qansouh, Minister of Higher
Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata, President of
Fayoum University, attended the continuation of the 18th Science Day
celebrations.
The event was also attended by Prof. Galal Mostafa Saeed, former Minister
of Transport, former Governor of Cairo, former Governor of Fayoum, and former
President of Fayoum University; Prof. Saad Nassar, Former Governor of Fayoum; Prof.
Ayman Essawy, Professor Emeritus at the Faculty of Medicine; Prof. Assem
El-Essawy, Vice President of the University for Community Service and
Environmental Development and Supervisor of Postgraduate Studies, Cultural
Relations, and Research; Prof. Sherif El-Attar, Vice President of the
University for Education and Student Affairs; members of the University
Council; Mr. Ahmed Rashad, Secretary General of the University; and honored
faculty members and students. The celebrations took place on June 24, 2026, in
the University's Grand Celebration Hall. The event was held on June 24, 2026.
Prof. Assem El-Essawy affirmed
that the Science Day celebration reflects Fayoum University's commitment to its
creative students across various scientific fields. He highlighted the
university's significant role in community service through organizing medical
convoys, supporting underprivileged students, adopting numerous initiatives and
entrepreneurial programs, and striving to provide an equitable educational
environment for all.
He added that the university is steadily implementing its research plan,
having increased the number of published scientific papers to 1,096 this year.
This has contributed to improving the university's ranking in scientific
classifications, placing it among the top universities both locally and
internationally.
Prof. Sherif El-Attar explained that honoring outstanding professors and
students across all university faculties serves as a crucial incentive for
future generations, encouraging them to exert effort and acquire knowledge. He
emphasized the importance of continuing efforts to advance and elevate the
university.
It is worth noting that during the second part of the 18th Science Day
celebration, the following were honored:
- The families of
deceased faculty members and staff of Fayoum University were also recognized.
- Honoring the
recipients of the Fayoum University Encouragement Award for promotion to higher
academic ranks, including professors and associate professors in the fields of
basic sciences, engineering, technology, medicine, and social sciences and
humanities.
- Honoring the recipients
of the Administrative Excellence Award.
- Honoring the
recipients of the Ideal Employee Award and the Ideal Worker Award
- Honoring members of
the teaching assistants who have obtained doctoral and master's degrees,
international students who have obtained master's degrees, and administrative
staff members who have obtained doctoral and master's degrees.
- Honoring
top-performing undergraduate students and students who achieved rankings at the
Egyptian and international university levels for the 2024/2025 academic year,
in addition to honoring the organizing committee for the 18th Science Day
celebration.
It is worth noting
that during the 18th Science Day celebration, 1200 faculty members, teaching
assistants, researchers, administrators, staff, and students were honored.
