Prof. Sherif Mohamed Sabry El-Attar, Acting President of Fayoum University, extends his sincere congratulations to Prof. Shaaban Mohamed Mahmoud Abdel-Aal El-Amir, Professor of Restoration and Conservation of Archaeological Materials at the Faculty of Archaeology, and to Prof. Abdel-Rahman Mohamed Abdel-Rahman El-Serougy, Professor of Restoration of Antiquities at the Faculty of Archaeology, on their appointment to the Permanent Committee for Islamic, Coptic, and Jewish Antiquities at the Supreme Council of Antiquities. This appointment follows the decision of Mr. Sherif Fathy, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, to reconstitute the committee, which now includes a number of specialists in archaeology and related fields, as well as faculty members from Egyptian public universities and experts in urban planning.

Prof. El-Attar expressed his pride in this distinguished academic representation of the university, emphasizing Fayoum University's commitment to enhancing the participation of its scholars in national institutions and committees. He affirmed the university's dedication to leveraging their scientific and research expertise and academic specializations in addressing issues of priority to society, and to support the Egyptian state's efforts to protect its antiquities and preserve its cultural heritage.

Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Sherif Fathy, issued two ministerial decrees reconstituting the Permanent Committee for Islamic, Coptic, and Jewish Antiquities, and the Permanent Committee for Egyptian, Greek, and Roman Antiquities. This reconstitution reflects the Ministry's commitment to continuously developing the archaeological work system, enhancing the efficiency of the permanent antiquities committees, and raising their standards.

The new committees aim to draw upon a diverse group of experienced and qualified individuals from within the Ministry and its affiliated bodies, as well as from external organizations. This diversity encompasses a wide range of scientific, technical, and academic expertise relevant to archaeological work. The committees will be empowered to make necessary decisions that contribute to improving the operational mechanisms of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, supporting efforts to preserve Egyptian antiquities of all types, and contributing to the completion of national projects in cooperation with various state entities.
