Under
the patronage of Prof. Sherif Mohamed Sabry El-Attar, Acting President of
Fayoum University, and Prof. Assem El-Essawy, Vice President for Community
Service and Environmental Development, a medical convoy was organized at the
Aisha Hassanein Orphanage in Fayoum Governorate.
The
event took place on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, under the supervision of Prof.
Naglaa El-Sherbiny, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine. It was organized by the
Department of Seminars and Conferences—part of the University’s General
Administration for Community Service and Environmental Development—in
collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine and the Rotary Club of Tagamoa Royal.
Attendees
included Dr. Iman Fikry Mostafa, Nutrition and Obesity Consultant and President
of the Tagamoa Rotary Club; Mr. Mohamed Mizar, Rotary Club Manager, accompanied
by a team of club members; Mr. Abdel Nasser Bakry Mohamed, Director General of
Community Service and Environmental Development; Mr. Hamada Moussa Fatih,
Director of the Aisha Hassanein Orphanage; as well as administrative staff and
the children of the orphanage.
Prof. Assem
Fouad El-Essawy emphasized that Fayoum University continues to fulfill its
social mission by deploying medical and developmental convoys targeting groups
most in need of care. He noted that caring for orphans goes beyond providing
medical services; it extends to offering psychological, social, and
humanitarian support, thereby contributing to a safer and more stable life for
them.
The
convoy provided medical examinations for 66 children from the orphanage across
two specialties—pediatrics and ophthalmology—alongside necessary medical
guidance and advice, ensuring the children's health status was assessed and
their medical needs were met. On the sidelines of the convoy’s activities, the
Rotary Club of Tagamoa Royal distributed school bags and supplies to 40
children from the care home. This humanitarian gesture aimed to support the children,
encourage them to continue their education, and bring joy to their hearts at
the start of the new academic year.
For his
part, Mr. Abdel Nasser Bakry stated that the Fayoum University administration
is committed to organizing and implementing initiatives and convoys that target
all deserving groups, particularly orphaned children. He emphasized that caring
for this group is not merely a community activity but a humanitarian mission
reflecting the university's values and its dedication to playing an
impactful, tangible role in the lives of community members.
In the
same context, Mr. Hamada Moussa expressed his appreciation to Fayoum University
and the Rotary Club of Tagamoa for organizing the medical convoy and providing
support to the children. He highlighted the importance of such initiatives in
delivering necessary healthcare to the children and fostering a spirit of
social solidarity, adding that the care home provides a comprehensive system of
health, psychological, social, and recreational services to the children
throughout the various stages of their lives.
