Under
the patronage of Prof. Abdel-Aziz Konsowa, Minister of Higher Education and
Scientific Research—and as part of efforts to support the internationalization
of education and build international academic and professional
partnerships—Prof. Sherif Mohamed Sabry El-Attar, Acting President of Fayoum
University and Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, participated
in the launch of the "Vatel Egypt" program, which was held at King
Salman International University, the event involved a partnership with the
French Vatel Group and included participation from various Egyptian
universities and representatives from the tourism and hospitality sectors.
Prof.
El-Attar announced that Fayoum University will soon launch a Bachelor of
International Hotel Management program and a Master of Business Administration
(MBA) in International Hotel Management program, in partnership with the French
Vatel Group, commencing in the 2026/2027 academic year.
He
noted that the programs will be taught entirely in English, thereby fostering
students' academic, professional, and linguistic skills and preparing them for
careers in the tourism and hospitality sectors in accordance with international
standards.
Furthermore,
the programs offer students the opportunity to earn a dual qualification: a
degree from Fayoum University alongside an international certificate from the
French Vatel Group—a specialist in international hotel and hospitality
management. The programs also provide opportunities for field training and
international exchange, enriching students' experiences and bridging the gap
between academic theory and practical application. Vatel Hotel & Tourism
Business School is a specialized international institution in the field of
hotel and tourism management. Established in Paris, France, in 1981, it has
expanded its branches across Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas, boasting a
vast network of alumni working in hospitality and tourism organizations
worldwide.
The
programs offer a comprehensive educational pathway that combines academic study
with specialized practical training in international hotel management. This
enables students to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for the
hospitality sector and to benefit from the educational and training expertise
provided through the partnership with the French Vatel institution.
The
programs also include field training at four- and five-star hotels and resorts,
providing students with direct practical experience in a hotel work environment
and helping them develop professional and managerial skills aligned with labor
market demands.
The
launch of these programs at Fayoum University aligns with the National Strategy
for Higher Education and Scientific Research 2030. This strategy emphasizes
international benchmarking, the development of the higher education system, and
the alignment of educational outcomes with labor market needs. It also supports
Egypt’s Vision 2030 regarding human capital development, skill enhancement, and
preparing individuals for the local and international labor markets.
In the
near future, the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels at Fayoum University is set to
announce full details regarding the schedules, requirements, and procedures for
application and admission to the Bachelor’s program in International Hotel
Management and the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program in
International Hotel Management.
