Prof. Sherif El-Attar, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs,
attended the reception ceremony for new students at the Faculty of Engineering,
under the patronage of Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata, President of Fayoum
University, on Monday, September 29, 2025, in the college's conference hall.
The ceremony was attended by Prof. Rania Abu El-Soud, Acting Dean of the
Faculty, Prof. Ahmed Serag, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, and
Prof. Saeed El-Khouly, Head of the Civil Engineering Department, along with a
host of faculty and administrative staff.
In his speech, Prof. Sherif El-Attar expressed his great happiness at
returning to the college, which has embraced him from the beginning of his
academic career until his appointment as Vice President of the University. He
emphasized that engineering students are distinguished by their unique way of
thinking and lifestyle, noting that engineering has been and continues to be a
fundamental pillar in serving humanity through its inventions and achievements.
He also called on students to actively participate in student activities,
alongside academic excellence, in order to build a well-rounded personality.
For her part, Prof. Rania Abu Al-Soud emphasized the importance of student engagement
in various activities and events, as they provide diverse experiences that hone
skills and support the student's character without conflicting with their
academic commitment. She noted that the activities extend throughout the five
years of study, providing ongoing opportunities for participation. She also
urged students to master foreign languages to keep pace with the demands of the
labor market, emphasizing the need to strengthen ties and a spirit of
cooperation within the college.
Prof. Ahmed Serag welcomed the new students, emphasizing the importance
of seriousness and diligence in their studies, considering the university stage
as the foundation for building experience and refining character. He also noted
the college's commitment to supporting its students and providing the means for
success and excellence, which elevates Fayoum University's reputation in
various forums.
The ceremony included several artistic performances by the students and
concluded with honoring the students who excelled academically and in their
various activities.
