In line
with the directives of Prof. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and
Scientific Research, to implement the presidential initiative
"Tamkeen" launched by His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi,
to promote the rights of people with disabilities and support their full
integration into the university community, and under the auspices of Prof.
Yasser Magdy Hatata, President of Fayoum University, and the supervision of
Prof. Assem El-Essawy, Vice President of the University for Community Service
and Environmental Development, the University's Student Services Unit for
People with Disabilities concluded its activities for the presidential
initiative "Tamkeen" under the slogan "Together Towards an
Inclusive Future," which aimed to support students with disabilities. The
activities took place from October 25 to 30, 2025, at Fayoum University.
The
closing ceremony was attended by Dr. Rania Shaaban, Director of the
University's Student Services Center for People with Disabilities, along with a
number of administrators and students, on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at the
Center.
The
closing events included an introduction to different types of disabilities,
including visual, auditory, intellectual, and physical disabilities, as well as
raising awareness among university students about their role and responsibilities
towards their peers with disabilities and how to help them integrate into the
educational environment.
It is
worth noting that the initiative aimed to promote communication, cooperation,
and full inclusion with students with disabilities, extend a helping hand to
them, and highlight the specialized training programs offered by the center.
These programs contribute to equipping students with the skills to
professionally interact with their peers with disabilities, thereby
strengthening the values of participation and solidarity within the
university community.
