In line with the directives of the
political leadership aimed at strengthening the values of belonging and
national awareness among university students and connecting them with the
latest global technological developments, and under the patronage of Prof.
Yasser Magdy Hatata, President of Fayoum University, the Popular and Military
Defense Forces organized a field visit today, Wednesday, December 3, 2025, for
a number of university students to the Egypt International Exhibition Center in
New Cairo. The visit was to the 4th Edition of the International
Defense Industries Exhibition "EDEX 2025," organized by the Egyptian
Armament Authority in cooperation with the Ministry of Military Production and
the Arab Organization for Industrialization, which will be held from December 1
to 5, 2025.
Prof. Sherif Sabry El-Attar, Vice
President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, stated that the
delegation comprised approximately 200 male and female students, along with
their supervisors. He emphasized that the participation stems from the
university's commitment to familiarizing its students with Egypt's capabilities
in the defense and military industries, and to exposing them to the latest
advancements in global defense technology. He noted that EDEX is one of the
largest arms exhibitions in the Middle East and Africa, reflecting Egypt's
regional and international standing.
For his part, Lieutenant Colonel
Ahmed Hendam, Director of the Military Education Office at Fayoum University,
explained that the visit aimed to refine students' knowledge, broaden their
scientific and practical understanding, and empower them to actively
participate in major national events, thus contributing to the development of
well-informed graduates who are up-to-date with the changing times.
He pointed out that the
international exhibition is an important platform for opening up avenues of
joint cooperation in various fields of defense manufacturing, exchanging
expertise, and localizing global military technology within Egyptian companies.
These companies possess distinguished industrial, technological, and human
capabilities, enabling them to establish successful industrial partnerships
that reflect Egypt's strength and progress in the field of defense industries.
He added that the visit was marked
by an atmosphere of pride and interest, as the students toured the various
exhibition pavilions and learned about the latest defense technologies and
advanced military industries, providing them with a unique opportunity to
experience modern technology firsthand.
Prof. Wael Tobar, the university's
General Coordinator of Student Activities, confirmed that the current edition
of the exhibition includes dozens of international pavilions and features the
participation of more than 40 countries and hundreds of international companies
specializing in defense systems, military communications, and advanced
technology. The exhibition also showcases the latest products of the Arab
Organization for Industrialization and military production factories for the
first time, amidst the presence of high-level military delegations from around
the world.
